Get outside, discover the beauty of Westhills, and win amazing prizes during the Westhills Summer Nature Photo Scavenger Hunt, running August 10-31, 2026.
Whether you’re a long-time resident or visiting the community, this free, family-friendly event is a fun way to explore Westhills’ parks, trails, lakes, and natural spaces while capturing some of the incredible wildlife and scenery that make our community unique.
Complete the scavenger hunt and enter your best photos for a chance to win one of three exciting Grand Prizes, and every participant who finishes will receive a Westhills Explorer Prize!
How the Scavenger Hunt Works
Participating is easy!
- Find the Scavenger Hunt Checklist below
- Explore Westhills’ parks, trails, and natural spaces between August 10 and August 31.
- Take a photo of every item on the checklist
- Upload your completed scavenger hunt photos using our Google submission form before the contest closes.
- The Westhills Team will review all photo submissions and select the photographer with the best overall entry as the Grand Prize winner!
Please note that all submitted photographs must be taken by the participant. The use of AI-generated or manipulated images is strictly prohibited.
Westhills Nature Scavenger Hunt Checklist
See if you can find and photograph all ten nature-themed items:
- A Western Painted Turtle at Langford Lake
- A butterfly in the Rain Garden
- A photo of the Gravity Zone entrance
- A sunset at Langford Lake
- Your favourite view from a Westhills trail
- A rider catching air at Jordie Lunn Bike Park
- A selfie with a Westhills sign
- Capture of peaceful moment on the Ed Nixon bridge
- Ducks swimming in Paradise Ponds
- A photo of a Westhills trail bench with a great view
Grand Prizes
Every completed scavenger hunt submission will be entered into the photography contest, with the best overall submission awarded the Grand Prize (approx. $500 value). The winner may choose from one of the following prize packages:

Explorer Prizes can be picked up at the Westhills HomeStore after submissions have been verified.
